The CELCU Story

CELCU, Centro de Entrenamiento La Cosecha Urbana (Training Center for the Urban Harvest) had been in the heart of God for a long time.

It only became clear when there was an overwhelming response, to an invitation for an all day  Educational Workshop, on methods of teaching in the Urban setting, on the part of pastors and church leaders. Every time we had a workshop the response was the same.

For over seven years we had been praying for a systematic theological training program, one that was refreshing of the Word of God, also impart another level of understanding of today's church in the urban setting but without becoming a burden to the present ministry.

Our prayers were answered when told of the Capstone Curriculum by World Impact. This program is designed for pastors and leaders already working in the field.

The Urban Ministry Institute (TUMI) and the Capstone Curriculum is like water in the dessert for our students. It responds to each need in every level. It is a seminary level certificate program, practical and relevant to the needs in the urban communities, and the student doesn't have to leave their present ministry to attend classes.

We gather three hours once a week. The majority of the students can cover the cost of the material utilized in the classroom, including textbooks.

We are now facilitators, coordinators and mentors in this cause by placing these tools in the student's hands, and it is because we have a strong conviction that this is our call in this hour.
