WHAT'S HAPPENING IN NOVEMBER?

With the end of October Group 2 is two weeks from saying good by to yet another module. 'THE KINGDOM OF GOD' was a reminder that His Kingdom Is Here but still Yet To Come.

How we enjoyed our discussion together. We know the students were impacted by the concepts of of this module and that they have been changed, renewed and restored by the refreshing of the Word in their lives.

As always we thank God for the opportunity to impact His people with the renewing of His Word in the lives of the students at CELCU.

In two weeks Group 2 will start Module 12 'FOCUS ON REPRODUCTION'.

Group 1 is on their seventh module 'THEOLOGY OF THE CHURCH' module 3. We are excited at where the Spirit of the Lord will lead us during this module.

Saturday November 5Th at 3 PM, we will have an orientation section for those that want to be in Group 3.
Pray with us that we have a good turnout and that the 15 chosen be those hand picked by God to lead as pastors and leaders in the church this and the next generations to come.

"PRAYING FOR NEW STUDENTS"

We are excited to announce that we've started the recruitment process for our third group of 15. Classes to start February 1, 2012.
Orientation will be the fifth of November, then starts the process of prayer for the selection of the group.

With Gods help we will continue to train church leadership and pastors for the work of the Gospel of Jesus Christ until He comes.

Pray with us that the Lord will bring about His revival in the renewing of our minds as in Romans 12.2.

'FULL SPEED AHEAD'

Hola amigos, we started the new school year 'Full Speed Ahead'.

The students are motivated, the lessons are intense and the discussions are very lively.

We've felt the Spirit of God guiding every discussion. We have all been challenged and recognize that in order to help God's people we must first allow the Spirit of God to speak directly to us and work in our lives as leaders.

As Leaders, we can no longer allow the 'Dominant Culture' dictate what the church of Jesus Christ needs to be and can or can not do.

We as leaders, must fight for those lives that have been entrusted to us, through prayer, counsel and deliberately caring for each and every individual.

In this way 'We the Church', will be strong and a force to be reckoned with.

"SOME PEOPLE DREAM OF SUCCESS WHILE OTHERS WAKE UP AND WORK HARD AT IT"

Last year on the 30th of August we launched CELCU.

After various levels of anxiety, apprehension and developing an attitude of hard work, last night, in just one year, Group 1 successfully completed five modules. By the end of 2011 they will have taken seven modules.

We praise God and rejoiced in what He has done in just on year.

Looking back, they have learned Bible Interpretation, Biblical leadership Principles, Practicing Biblical Leadership Principles, Focus in the Kingdom of God and Focus on Reproduction. These have strengthen their ministries; producing in some cases: numerical growth, launching of new ministries, a new church and systematic discipleship training to recount some of the successes of studying at CELCU.

We are excited and look forward to what God will do.

'OIKOS'

Three weeks ago group one started the module 'Focus on Reproduction'.  Last Monday we studied the significance of 'OIKOS'OIKOS; the basic unit of society in most Greek city-states.

The Lord calls us to penetrate our 'OIKOS' (household networks) in urban, cross-cultural evangelism.  Through testifying the Gospel in our webs of common kinship relationships, friendships, and associations we can spread and win others in our urban cities.

The students were marveled to learn how many 'OIKOS' they are a part of; at work, school, circle of friends, relatives, relatives friends, church, clubs, etc.

May ended with a refreshing new look at the Kingdom of God

Group 1
'THE KINGDOM OF GOD' module ended on the 23 of May and was one of the most spectacular modules we have studied to date.

In eight lessons, this module gave us a bird’s eye view of the Reign of God, from a discussion how God’s absolute sovereignty and Lordship of God was defied by the devil and the first human pair to the inauguration of God’s reign in Jesus Christ and his incarnation. Now that our Lord Jesus has died, risen, and ascended into heaven, the Kingdom of God is being proclaimed throughout the world by his Church. God’s reign will soon be consummated at the Second Coming of Jesus, where death, disease, and all evil will be put down, all heaven and earth will be renewed, and God will become All-in-all.

The students express a renewed awareness of the authority of THE KINGDOM OF GOD and how necessary it is for the church to take ownership of and proclaim the KINGDOM OF GOD and the LORDSHIP OF JESUS CHRIST.

BACK TO THE FUTURE, TUMI Satellite Summit!

WOW! God is truly everywhere and in everything that has to do with His Kids.

Rosa and I have just returned from Wichita, Kansas where we were refreshed, recharged, networked and had a time of fellowship with our co-laborers in the work of Kingdom of God. The gathering was for all licensed satellites using The Urban Ministry Institute curriculum.

The theme throughout the Summit was "BACK TO THE FUTURE"; how we must go back to the Great Traditions and the Greatest Story Ever Told and how we must continually retell the Great Old Story contextualized to our surroundings.

We return to our students with a mission to help them first, Know the Story, Live out the Story in their lives and then Tell the Story of our Lord and His love for His Church.

We must all get to know and tell His-story so that every time we hear it we are amazed and awed and our mouth hangs down and the expressions that come to mind are 'WOW', 'I never heard it that way before', 'Amazing', 'Awesome', and in Spanish 'Increíble', 'Asombroso", 'Caramba', 'Caray', 'Impresionante'.

Started New Module

Group II started Module 7 'FUNDAMENTALS OF CHRISTIAN LEADERSHIP' last night. But not before celebrating the end of our last module by eating burgers together from the best burger place in Ensenada 'TITO'S BURGERS'. (See more on 'TITO'S BURGERS on Student profiles.)

Everyone was eager to start the new module and see what God has in store for the Church through these coming eight weeks. More updates coming soon.

The 'Lord's Doings' among us

Dear partners in the work of the Kingdom, we write to you with great excitement, as it has been a while since we have communicated regarding the “Lord Doings” among us.

Last February we started a second group with 15 students; 8 pastors and 6 leaders involved in their respective churches. We just finished 8 weeks of Bible Interpretation, Module 5 with them.

As God has entrusted these thirty to us, we are in awe of the amazing things He is doing among us. The testimonies from each participant are phenomenal, as each one of them has become aware of the eternal benefits of their preparation for the work of God’s kingdom. They are finding the theological training they are receiving is taking them to new levels of comprehension, transformation and renewal, personally and corporate..

Rosa is continuing her education online from Fuller Theological Seminary, as we continue to discover how in God everything is interconnected. The journey of learning is a continual evolving process, what we learn in one setting is always to the benefit of another.

Myself, I am continually busy in mentoring, facilitating and the administrative aspects of CELCU, clerical, logistic, promotion and fundraising, as well as continual education at Centro Hispano de Estudios Teológicos (CHET) correspondence from Compton, California.

We greatly appreciate your support. This work is a team effort, and we continue to trust Him for the resources needed to continue impacting this wonderful community of laborers.
As we continue to go forward our hope is to get better at keeping you, our partners, informed of the happenings and the great things God is doing through your prayers and giving.
